| Background Information | STEAP1 (Six-Transmembrane Epithelial Antigen of the Prostate 1) is a cell-surface protein primarily expressed in prostate tissue and overexpressed in multiple cancer types, including prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and Ewing sarcoma. It belongs to the STEAP family of metalloreductases, although unlike other members, STEAP1 lacks key enzymatic motifs and is believed to function more as a transporter or signaling molecule. Due to its tumor-specific overexpression and surface localization, STEAP1 is a highly promising target for cancer immunotherapy, including monoclonal antibody therapies, CAR-T cell development, and cancer vaccines. |
